‘Anne & Emmett’

 

Playwright and journalist Janet Langhart Cohen, wife of former defense secretary William S. Cohen, imagines a meeting between Anne Frank (Zasha Shary) and Emmett Till (Shawn Burgess) in ‘Anne & Emmett.’ The African American Performing Arts Community Theatre is presenting the memory play about the two famous teen victims of hatred and prejudice at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, 6161 NW 22nd Ave., Miami, through May 12. Performances are 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday. Regular tickets are $20 ($25 for Saturday’s opening performance; $15 for first weekend Friday and Sunday performances).
