Gabrielle Reece’s ‘submissive’ advice for couples

Marriage: it’s whatever works. Jada Pinkett Smith came out saying that she and Will most certainly do not have an open relationship, as rumor has stated. The actress/rocker posted on her Facebook page: “Do we believe loving someone means owning them? Do we believe that ownership is the reason someone should ‘behave?’ Do we believe that all the expectations, conditions, and underlying threats of “you better act right or else” keep one honest and true?” She went on, but we don’t have space for her proclamations.

Now Gabrielle Reece has spoken about what makes her longtime union work, but that doesn’t mean every couple has to heed her words. The pro volleyball player ruffled some female feathers in an interview with Chelsea Handler while talking about her book, My Foot Is Too Big for the Glass Slipper. In it, Reece (wed to surfer Laird Hamilton for 16 years) advises women to be look up to their mates. “To truly be feminine means being soft, receptive, and — look out, here it comes — submissive,” wrote the mother of two.

Zac Efron doesn’t have time for the pain. The 25-year-old cutie actor broke his hand recently while filming a fight on the upcoming film Townies with co-star Dave Franco, brother of James. “I had to go back to work so I couldn’t really wear a cast. So they put like a titanium plate in it and a bunch of screws,” Efron explained on Live With Kelly & Michael. “My hand in theory is back to normal, it just looks really gross.”
