Officer did his job

As Marvin Dunn did, I, too, watched the video of Miami Det. Fernando Bosch striking a distraught relative of a homicide victim in Overtown.

However, I have a different opinion. In Miami and throughout this country, men, women, even babies in the womb are being killed and injured. So many of these victims are African-American.

I believe in profiling. That said, it must not be based on race or ethnicity alone.

I saw a gentleman charging the crime scene while police officers were busy protecting that scene from others. I saw Det. Bosch unsuccessfully try to stop him. I didn’t see “out-of-control cop hitting a person for no apparent reason.”

In this case, I saw a police officer doing his job with his fists and continuing until the subject was stopped and subdued.

As LeBron leaves, keep it classy Miami

Alright, so James is leaving. We will survive, really. We will miss him for sure.

  • Thanks, LeBron

Downtown Miami’s resurgence was well under way before The Big 3 arrived, gained momentum alongside four consecutive championship runs and won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

  • Missing him LeBron

Although devastated by his decision to leave us, I am immensely grateful to LeBron James for what he gave us: the best four years the Miami sports scene has ever experienced.
