Doings: Food-truck event, ‘Check, Please!’ tour, poetry coasters

 

Magic City Casino, 450 NW 37th Ave., Miami, collaborates with food blogger Sef “Burger Beast” Gonzalez in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for largest parade of food trucks at 4:30 p.m. Saturday; magiccitycasino.com.

Tickets are on sale for the May 14 Check, Please! South Florida Tasting Tour of Coconut Grove with chef Michelle Bernstein, the kickoff event for the Season 10 debut of Check, Please!, which she hosts on WPBT-PBS2. They are $125 at checkpleasefl.com.

The O Miami poetry month celebration continues with verses by various poets emblazoned on coasters at establishments including Lester’s, O Cinema, Gramps, Billy’s Too, Churchill’s, Titanic Brewing Co., Flannigan’s (North Miami), Limoni Cafe, Tobacco Road, American Legion Post 67, Flip Burger Bar, Books & Books, Sweat Records, JohnMartin’s, Billy’s Too, Luna Star Cafe and World of Beer.
