Miramar to discuss hiring next city manager



Miramar City Commissioners meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 2300 Civic Center Place, to discuss the hiring process for a new city manager.

The workshop, open to the public, was established in response to former City Manager Robert Payton’s resignation and the payout he received.

Payton collected a hefty $2.4 million in deferred pension and retirement benefits on top of an annual pension of $110,593.

The currently appointed Wazir Ishmael as interim city manager.

Following the workshop, the commission will reconvene at 7 p.m. for its bimonthly meeting.
