Horoscopes

If today is your birthday: This year others find you exciting and full of surprises. You discover that your social life is demanding but rewarding. You also will do well professionally because of your ability to understand and communicate with others. If you are single, there are many possibilities. What will it take to make you stop and want to get to know someone better? Only you know when the timing is right. If you are attached, the two of you start playing together like two kids in a sandbox. Gemini makes you smile with his or her sunny ways.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): Others seek you out — each of them buoyant with news or ideas. You could say no, but the prospect of relating makes you want to say yes. Suddenly, you’ll discover just how very busy you are. A very special person comes forward. Tonight: A fun dinner with friends.

This Week: Work with others.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): You have been postponing a project long enough. The time to complete it is now. You might have to block some interference from other options that could be more appealing. Can you do them all and feel good about yourself? Tonight: Make it easy.

This Week: Dive into a project Monday. You have a lot to do.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): You might pull the wild card when dealing with money. Know that a risk could go either way. You will want to deal with a changing situation. A new friend could be a lot of fun, and he or she will go along with whatever you want. Tonight: Pretend that tomorrow isn’t Monday.

This Week: If you can take Monday off, do.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): You are full of surprises, especially when it comes to your funds. For your well-being, try to tame any wild spending. Evoke more self-discipline, and you will be happier as a result. Focus on your family and home. Reach out to someone at a distance. Tonight: Accept an invitation.

This Week: Tension eases on Tuesday. Tap into your imagination.

Aries (March 21-April 19): Observe what is going on behind the scenes. You might be confused, as something could be happening that you do not want to see or be a part of. You are a source of ideas and creative solutions. Reach out to a neighbor or relative at a distance. Tonight: Hang out with friends.

This Week: Use Monday and Thursday for communication.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): Your intuition is telling you something very different from what you hear. Listen to news, but keep your inner cynic active. Treat a friend or family member to the movies. A change of pace makes you smile. You are nothing less than lucky. Tonight: Do your own thing.

This Week: Venus enters your sign Monday, which adds to your magnetism.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): How you see a situation could change radically as information pours in. You are seeing just the tip of the iceberg. You can handle whatever comes your way. Worry less, and open up to a conversation. You will feel quite upbeat as a result. Tonight: Opportunities keep emerging.

This Week: You are on a roll as the week begins. Watch your spending, please.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): Much is going on behind the scenes. Even if you are not in the middle of what is happening, you sense the undercurrents. Someone is about to reveal more, and you’ll want to be an active listener. Tonight: Not to be found. Let others’ imaginations wander.

This Week: By Monday evening, you’ll feel ready for nearly anything.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): Surround yourself with friends and/or family. Whether you’re at a ballgame or just out and about, you’ll have a great time. Catch up on news from someone you rarely see but feel close to. Good luck surrounds groups and friends in general. Tonight: Why stop enjoying yourself?

This Week: Vanish Tuesday and Wednesday.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): Be willing to take the lead and follow through on what you believe is important. Others like it when you coordinate a get-together. Conversations with a friend encourage you. Tonight: Start thinking about tomorrow.

This Week: Expect to handle a lot, but know that you will do it well.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): Keep reaching out to someone whom you have not spoken to for a while. The best approach is a direct one, though you might not expect what this person brings to the table. You could be relieved once you hear his or her news, but you also might be concerned. Tonight: Veg.

This Week: Reach out to a friend Monday.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): Deal with a partner directly whom you have been avoiding. You might be surprised at how easily the conversation will go. You will feel fortunate that you have this person to relate to on a one-on-one level. Opportunities arise when you’re together. Tonight: Togetherness feels natural.

This Week: Speak to a partner Monday. Work as a team in order to launch a new project.

Dive into Greek culture on the Florida coast? Opa!

First we saw a few bubbles. Then so many that the water seemed to boil. Next appeared a bulbous brass helmet, big as a beach ball, trailing a long rubber hose. A human hand clasped the side of the wooden boat. A minute later, the diver had climbed back aboard the St. Nicholas VII. Clad in traditional early-20th-century diving getup, he appeared to have stepped directly from a Jules Verne novel.

It’s the season to see Key Deer

Dear to the hearts of many are the miniature deer that exist only in the Florida Keys. Fully grown, these Key Deer stand only two to three feet high, but resemble their bigger siblings in every respect: Stags grow a full set of antlers, does charm with their limpid eyes.
