Police arrested a man on drug charges Thursday night after paramedics were called to Miami Coral Park Senior High School to treat students who had eaten brownies and then gotten sick.
A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokeswoman said crews arrived at the school at 8865 SW 16th St. just before 10 a.m. after receiving calls about possible overdoses. Nine students were taken to Miami Childrens Hospital, Kendall Regional Medical Center and South Miami Hospital, mostly as a precautionary measure, said school district spokesman John Schuster.
A 10th student was treated and released at the school, he said.
Schuster said police later searched the home of Dionisio Lockridge, 22, and charged him with possession of cocaine, Xanax and marijuana with intent to sell after finding drugs and brownies. The investigation was continuing.
