Two of our favorite annual food extravaganzas return this weekend:
Les Dames d’Escoffier Miami, the food professionals’ sorority, hosts its fifth annual Tropical Brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Miami Beach Botanical Garden, 2000 Convention Center Dr., Miami Beach.
In addition to enjoying a lavish meal, attendees can sample the spring harvest from South Miami-Dade farms, watch cooking demonstrations, bid on food-themed silent auction items and get a signed copy of Edgy Veggie columnist Ellen Kanner’s new book, Feeding the Hungry Ghost.
Tickets are $50, $20 kids, in advance, $55/$25 at the door; lesdamesmiami.org. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit group’s educational efforts.
The 23rd annual Great Taste of the Grove takes over Peacock Park from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday featuring a score of Grove restaurants, caterers and hotels. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids under 12 and free for tots under three, with samplings in the three Great Tasting Tents $1-$8 per plate; greattasteofthegrove.com.
