Security guard shot in Miami Gardens

A security guard was shot Tuesday night outside the Eagle’s Landing Apartments in Miami Gardens, police said.

According to a Miami Gardens police spokesman, three males approached the guard outside the apartments at 18800 NW 27th Ave. at about 8 p.m. The guard was shot in his side and airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center.

The extent of his wounds was not disclosed, and his condition at the trauma center was unclear.

Police did not immediately identify the victim or the three males, and said they knew of no motive.
