Two interchange ramps connecting Interstate-595 to State Road 84 will be closed for construction starting Monday night.
Both the off-ramp from eastbound I-595 to eastbound SR-84 and the on-ramp from eastbound SR-84 to eastbound I-595 at Hiatus Road will close at 11 p.m. Monday as part of the I-595 Express Corridor Improvements Project, according to a Florida Department of Transportation news release.
Signs near the closed ramps at Hiatus will direct drivers leaving eastbound I-595 to take Exit 1B at Flamingo Road and those entering eastbound I-595 to take the on-ramp east of Nob Hill Road.
The ramps will remain closed for about seven months as part of a three-year-old project to create two new eastbound ramps.
The new ramps are expected to open before Thanksgiving, according to the news release.
Multiple lanes of Florida’s Turnpike near the interchange with I-595 will also remain closed until 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon as workers tear down a decommissioned interchange ramp.
