Texas: San Antonio Fiesta

If you love a parade, Fiesta San Antonio’s got you covered as the 11-day event opens April 18. Among the highlights: the Texas Cavaliers River Parade (April 22) with more than 40 decorated floats floating down the San Antonio River, the Battle of Flowers Parade (April 26), the Pooch Parade (April 27) and the Fiesta Flambeau Night Parade (April 27). Also on tap is the Fiesta Flower Show, the Pilgrimage to the Alamo and A Night in Old San Antonio — actually four nights April 23-26, but who’s counting? — in which more than 240 elaborately decorated food and drink booths and more than a dozen nonstop entertainment stages showcase the diverse cultures and customs of the city in 15 heritage-themed areas.
