Miramar residents will now have an extra five days to pay their utility bill, thanks to an ordinance approved by the City Commission Wednesday night.

The extension takes into consideration mail delays and aims to improve customer service, city representatives said.

In the past, homeowners had 19 days to pay their bill before it was considered past due.

Now they’ll have 24 days.
