Small plane makes emergency landing on rural Miami-Dade road

A single-engine Cessna 152 airplane made an emergency landing on a rural road in Southwest Miami-Dade Thursday morning, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reported.

A man and woman were aboard the plane, said Lt. Arnold Piedrahita. Both walked away with no injuries. The plane went off the road and into bushes.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported the plane declared an emergency at 8:45 a.m. It is unknown what problem caused the emergency.

Officials have not identified the pilot and passenger, but the plane’s tail number indicates the registered owner is C&G Aircraft Maintenance Inc., a company at Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport.

A man who answered the telephone at C&G said no one was available to comment on the emergency landing.
