McInnis, Goldsmith up for Beard awards

 

Miami chefs and venues snagged three nominations for this year’s James Beard Awards: Yardbird’s Jeff McInnis for Best Chef/South, Michael’s Genuine’s Hedy Goldsmith for Outstanding Pastry Chef and Lincoln Road’s Juvia for Outstanding Restaurant Design. Winners will be announced May 6; jamesbeard.org.

Nominees for the second annual Zest Awards, presented by Johnson & Wales University’s North Miami Campus and Miami magazine, include Giorgio Rapicavoli (Eating House), Kris Wessel (Florida Cookery), Kevin Cory (NAOE), Timon Balloo (Sugarcane), Mathias Gervais (The Setai) and Andreas Schreiner, Jose Mendin and Sergio Navarro (Pubbelly Group) for culinary innovator of the years.
