Animal groups host 12-hour adoption event on Saturday

Hundreds of cats and dogs in need of homes will be at Miami’s Mega Pet Adoption event from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at Tropical Park.

Miami-Dade Animal Services, the Humane Society of Greater Miami, and the Cat Network, along with rescue groups from all over South Florida, will have animals at the 12-hour adoption event.

During a similar event last spring, 438 pets found homes.

Food trucks, entertainment, a kid’s zone and other festivities will also be on hand. Adoption rates will be reduced for the event.

Tropical Park is located at 7900 Bird Road.
