A Fort Lauderdale city employee is facing child pornography charges after investigators say someone saw the man, who works as a building inspector, looking at pornography in his car in a McDonald’s parking lot.
City officials said Todd Thomsen has been placed on administrative leave from his $69,000-a-year job after his arrest Friday. He faces four felony charges.
Investigators said at about 2 a.m. on Friday, police responding to a tip found Thomsen in his car with child porn on his computer screen. The police report said Thomsen admitted he had been looking at child porn since December.
A spokesperson for the city of Fort Lauderdale told CBS 4 that Thomsen has worked as a city building inspector since 2006.
