Defensive end Vaughn Martin visits with Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are not through trying to bolster their defensive front.

Even with every starter from a year ago returning, the team brought former Chargers defensive end Vaughn Martin in for a visit Tuesday.

Martin is a Jamaican-born Canadian who played collegiate ball at the University of Western Ontario.

Martin, 26, started 12 games last year, logging 19 tackles and a sack. The team had some interest in Elvis Dumervil, but he signed with the Ravens this week.

Martin played in a 3-4 scheme last year, but apparently the Dolphins envision a role for him in their four-man front. Martin is built more like a defensive tackle at 6-4, 300 pounds.

Miami hasn’t made any moves since re-signing Nate Garner last week.
