Winter isn’t going away without a fight — and that may please some.
A strong cold front from the Northwest will cause temperatures to drop Monday night into the low 50s in South Florida.
Meteorologists are expecting Tuesday night to be the coldest, dipping into the mid-40s.
Chuck Caracozza, a meteorologist at the Miami National Weather Service, said during the next few days, the daytime weather will be sunny and in the lower 70s, but the evenings will be a different story, despite the fact that it is officially spring time.
The chill will last until Thursday, likely marking the end to the winter weather.
Is this late cold snap unusual?
“Sometimes we get these cold outbreaks as we’re in the transition to the next season,” Caracozza said.
