I must respectfully disagree with the sentiments expressed by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce in the March 14 letter, On the winning path. We’ve heard these arguments many times.
Wouldn’t an improvement to a business of just about any kind have an economic impact and bring jobs to our county? They “believe and trust the Dolphins to make a fair deal.”
They probably also believed and trusted the Marlins, whose white elephant is a case in point. Where are the promised benefits?
So now taxpayers should pay for what Norman Braman calls “corporate welfare” because somehow this will put us on the winning path? There’s no justification for the millions in public funds spent on any of these projects.
