Drunken cyclist crashes into car in Miami Beach

A drunken cyclist crashed into a car in Miami Beach early Wednesday morning, suffering a minor head injury.

The cyclist, a man in his 20s, was driving east on 23rd Street at 5:06 a.m. when he struck a black Lexus driving south on Collins Avenue, according to Miami Beach police. The cyclist was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is in stable condition, police said.

Officers determined the cyclist was intoxicated, and he will be cited for the accident, said Sgt. Bobby Hernandez, a police spokesman.
