TEAM OF THE WEEK

Lia King set meet records in the triple jump (38-8), 100 hurdles (14.19) and 300 hurdles(43.27), finished third in the long jump and Regine Williams won the 100 (11.86) and 200 (24.03) to lead the Hallandale girls’ track team to the George Steinbrenner Invitational title.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Matt Fierman, Coral Springs Charter, baseball: Fierman’s single in the bottom of the seventh inning scored Jorge Solano as the Panthers (7-6) rallied for a 4-3 upset of American Heritage (11-2).

Erin Dimeglio, South Plantation, flag football: Dimeglio passed for 125 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Paladins over South Broward 14-13.

Dakota Villella, American Heritage, softball: Villella went 2 for 4 with two RBI to help the Patriots (15-1) beat Westminster Christian 5-3 for the SlamFest Tournament gray bracket title.

Lani Skolnick and Jenna Cisneros, Coral Springs, girls’ tennis: Skolnick and Cisneros each won singles to lead the Colts over Coconut Creek 6-1.

Sam Culver, Cooper City, boys’ water polo: Culver made 18 saves to lead the Cowboys over Miami Dr. Krop 7-5.

Khari Herbert, American Heritage, boys’ track: Herbert finished second in the 400 (48.24) at Disney’s Track and Field Showcase.

Caio Henriques and Tyler Kruger, Monarch, boys’ tennis: Henriques and Kruger each won singles and doubles to lead the Knights over Pompano Beach 4-3.

Kendall Ellis, St. Thomas Aquinas, girls’ track: Ellis won the 400 (54.71) and led the 1,600-meter relay team of Toria Levy, Krystal Sparling and Alon Lewis to victory at the Bob Hayes Invitational.

Heather Ramos, Coral Springs Charter, softball: Huber (7-1) struck out 10 to lift the Panthers over West Broward 7-3 for the SlamFest white bracket title.

Daesha Rogers and Rachelle Alexander, American Heritage, girls’ track: Rogers and Alexander went 1-2 in the 800 (2:17.60, 2:20.02) and Rogers won the 1,600 (4:59.78) at the Bob Hayes Invitational.

Krystal Sparling, St. Thomas Aquinas, girls’ track: Sparling won the 100 in a Florida-leading 11.57 and led the Raiders’ 400-meter relay team of Khalifa St. Fort, Krysten Golden and Nastolgia Smith to victory (47.26) at the Bob Hayes Invitational.

Toria Levy, St. Thomas Aquinas, girls’ track: Levy won the 300 hurdles in a Florida-leading 42.93 and helped the Raiders win the 1,600-meter relay at the Bob Hayes Invitational.

James Buckley, Coral Springs Christian, baseball: Buckley went 3 for 4 with four RBI to lead the Crusaders (11-2) over Calvary Christian 11-3.

Johnny Haney, Cooper City, baseball: Haney threw three scoreless innings to earn the save as the Cowboys rallied for a 3-2 victory over Northeast.
