Tomas Vokoun stopped 31 shots and Joe Vitale netted the winner late in the first period as the Pittsburgh Penguins remained hot with a 2-1 victory over the Boston Bruins at CONSOL Energy Center. Sidney Crosby added a goal for the Penguins, who extended their season-high win streak to nine games and opened up a 12-point gap over New Jersey in the Atlantic Division. Tyler Seguin tallied and Tuukka Rask made 16 saves for the Bruins, winners in five of six prior to Sunday.

Final Score: Ottawa 4, Winnipeg 1

Ottawa, ON (Sports Network) - Kyle Turris and Jakob Silfverberg scored in a 75-second span late in the third period, helping Ottawa best Winnipeg, 4-1, at Scotiabank Place. Silfverberg tallied twice and Guillaume Latendresse once for the Senators, who have won two in a row following a stretch where they dropped six of seven. Daniel Alfredsson and Sergei Gonchar each picked up two assists to back a 25-save performance by Robin Lehner. Zach Bogosian posted the sole offense for the Jets, whose three-game win streak came to an end. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 38 shots for the Southeast Division leaders in defeat.

Final Score: Washington 5, Buffalo 3

Washington, DC (Sports Network) - Jason Chimera and Marcus Johansson scored 43 seconds apart in the second period, as the Washington Capitals posted a 5-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Alex Ovechkin, Troy Brouwer and Mathieu Perreault also scored for the Capitals, who have won two of their last three games. Washington goaltender Braden Holtby made 27 saves. Cody Hodgson had two goals for Buffalo, which has dropped six of seven. Ryan Miller was beaten five times on 25 shots.

Final Score: Edmonton 3, Nashville 2

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Lennart Petrell and Jordan Eberle both scored in the third period to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators at Rexall Place. Devan Dubnyk made 29 saves for the Oilers, who have won three of their last four games since a 6-0 setback in Nashville on March 8. Roman Josi had a goal and an assist for Nashville, which went 0-3-0 on a swing through western Canada. The five-game road trip began with a 4-0 win in Dallas, but the Predators allowed 13 goals in losses to Vancouver and Calgary. Pulled early from each of the Predators' previous two games, Pekka Rinne stopped 18 shots.
