Eagles acquire WR Benn from Bucs

The Sports Network

The Philadelphia Eagles continued to remake their team under new head coach Chip Kelly by acquiring lengthy fourth- year receiver Arrelious Benn from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles also picked up a 2013 seventh round draft pick in the deal and sent a 2013 sixth-rounder back to the Bucs, along with a conditional choice in the 2014 draft.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Benn was originally a second round pick by Tampa Bay in the 2010 draft after a stellar college career at the University of Illinois.

In his three seasons in Central Florida Benn tallied 59 receptions for 862 yards and five touchdowns. His best year came in 2011, when he caught 30 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns.

Benn suffered an MCL sprain during training camp in 2012, however, and only caught four balls in eight games.
