Recap: San Francisco vs. Japan

Takashi Toritani went 2-for-3 with two RBI and Sho Nakata went 3-for-4 with a triple and one RBI as Japan edged the San Francisco Giants, 6-3, in exhibition action in between the World Baseball Classic.

Masahiro Tanaka struck out three batters and allowed one run on three hits over two innings for the victory. Japan's remaining relievers allowed just two hits.

San Francisco's Yusmeiro Petit was charged with the loss after giving up six hits and four runs, while striking out three over the first four innings of play. Francisco Peguero drove in two runs and Gary Brown also added an RBI in defeat.
