Lazaro Arbos is loving his Top 10 status.

“When you go on the show, you hope to get far, but you never would expect how far you can go,” the American Idol competitor said from Los Angeles. “It was kind of a shock, yeah.”

The Naples resident is nearing the home stretch now. On Thursday night, we’ll see how many votes he gets and if he progresses on the long-running Fox show.

To pass the time between performances, the 21-year-old is listening to an eclectic mix of music. On his iPod right now is “rap, ballads, pop, country,” said the performer, whose pronounced stutter disappears while singing.

If all goes well, don’t expect Arbos (who has relatives in Miami on his dad’s side) to return to the Sunshine State. Though he loves the beach, Naples is a little slow-paced.

“I’d like to move to L.A. for sure,” says the Gulf Coast High grad, adding with a laugh, “There’s nothing going on back home!”

Sharp-dressed man

Get ready to have Dwyane Wade at your feet. Literally.

As if he doesn’t have enough going on, the Miami Heat star has partnered with California-based Stance sock company, for the appropriately titled The Wade Collection, launching later this year.

The styles he’s designing aren’t athletic at all, more for a no-sweat gentleman’s night out.

“Fashion and personal expression is something I take pride in,” said Wade in a release. “Socks are often overlooked in fashion, but I’ve always believed that style is about taking risks. Socks have the amazing ability to transform any ensemble into a bold fashion statement that reflects your personality and mood.”

Haute stuff

Fashionistas, start licking your lips and fine tuning the credit card. Neiman Marcus Coral Gables is bringing in Lubov Azria, chief creative officer of BCBGMaxAzria, to show off some key pieces from the Spring 2013 Hervé Léger by Max Azria Collection. The label is a favorite among the hip Hollywood set. Think Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis and Kerry Washington. The season’s clothes sound right up our SoFla alley, taking their inspiration from “the sultry South.

Noon-2 p.m. Friday, in Designer Sportswear, second floor.

The great outdoors

Have a hideous front yard? DIY Network is casting for its sixth annual one-hour special, America’s Most Desperate Landscape. Through March 22, homeowners are encouraged to upload photos and videos of their eyesores to www.jaytv.net. Depending on how horrid your grounds are, a pro may come over and help.

Stevie Wonder sings at his own birthday bash

Stevie Wonder celebrated his 63rd birthday a week after the big day (May 13) with a private concert for almost 700 high rollers, VIP guests and media types Tuesday night at Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The legendary Wonder performed for well over two hours, singing covers by The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Bob Marley as well as his own greatest hits. Wonder also invited some of the audience, this writer included, to audition for him on his hit, Part Time Lover. While he told us we were better than the previous, uh, contestant, we’ll be keeping the full time day job.

    Amanda Bynes: hot mess extraordinaire

The term “hot mess” doesn’t come close to describing Amanda Bynes. The troubled actress appeared disheveled in a long blond wig and sweats Friday in a criminal court where she was charged with reckless endangerment. She was also charged with attempted tampering with evidence and unlawful possession of marijuana, all misdemeanors.
