The Tennessee Titans signed free agent running back Shonn Greene, the team announced on Wednesday.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but ESPN is reporting the pact is worth up to $10 million over three years.
Greene, a third round selection of the New York Jets in the 2009 NFL Draft, had his best season as a pro in 2012, rushing for 1,063 yards and eight touchdowns.
The Iowa product has rushed for 3,423 yards and 18 touchdowns over 61 career- games, all with the Jets.
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy was succinct in identifying the one thing he wouldn't forget about the disappointing end to the 2012 season.
The demand seems simple enough. In today's NFL, teams need large, athletic defensive linemen.
