The newest ship from Princess Cruises will have a nightclub that the line’s other ships don’t: Club 6, a DJ-hosted dance club, the line announced Wednesday. The newest ship from Norwegian Cruise Line will have a a magic dinner show and a weekly fireworks display.

Club 6 — located on Deck 6 — is the latest feature to be unveiled on the Royal Princess, a 3,600-passenger ship with a new design that will debut in Europe in June and move to Fort Lauderdale in October to do Caribbean cruises.

In recent years, cruise lines building new ships have released information about them in dribs and drabs, hoping to keep public interest high during the long shipbuilding period. A video about the nightlife on Royal Princess, released Wednesday, is the 10th such video announcing announcing such major features as its expanded atrium and the over-water SeaWalk.

Tuesday, Princess Cruises revealed “20 Things You Don’t Know about Royal Princess” during Cruise Shipping Miami, the annual industry conference.

Highlights includes an outdoor art installation by Wyland, the marine artist; four original production shows; a self-guided tour of the ship’s architecture and $2 million art collection; a tea sommelier and an opportunity for guests to create their own custom blend; whiskey flights at the Wheelhouse Bar; on-demand stateroom programming at no additional charge; a $3,000 “Royal Indulgence” spa-and-food package for four in the new cabanas in the Sanctuary area; and a concierge lounge for suite guests.

Meantime, Norwegian Cruise Line announced features on the Norwegian Getaway, a 4,000-passenger ship that will debut in January and be based in Miami year-round. The Getaway will have The Illusionarium, a extra-fee dinner show inspired by Jules Verne and Harry Houdini featuring magic under a 30-foot diameter video dome. The Illusionarium will be in the space occupied by the Cirque Dreams show on the Norwegian Epic and the new Norwegian Breakaway, which will debut next month in New York. The price has not been set, but will be in the same range as Cirque Dreams, which costs $35.

The new ship also will have a fireworks show on the second-to-last night of every cruise.
