My dachshund Simon’s already short legs will get even shorter if the South Pointe dog park is fenced and he cannot run around. I do agree, however, with Miami Beach Commissioner Deede Weithorn that skateboards, bicycles, skaters and other moving vehicles and dogs have difficulty co-existing, and dogs must be leashed outside the dog park to avoid being run down by these moving vehicles. The skateboarders who scream to walkers to get out of the way when they come zooming down the small hill perhaps should also be on a leash to prevent the broken bones of a hapless pedestrian when run over by these moving vehicles.
