49ers sign Ian Williams to extension

The San Francisco 49ers have signed nose tackle Ian Williams to a two-year contract extension through the 2015 season.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to extend the contract of a young, talented player like Ian," said 49ers general manager Trent Baalke in a statement Monday. "He will have the opportunity to continue to grow in our defense, and we look forward to his future development."

Williams has appeared in four games over the past two seasons and has recorded seven tackles.
