Report: Redskins release CB Hall

The Sports Network

The Washington Redskins have reportedly released cornerback DeAngelo Hall.

According to the Washington Post, the Redskins were still over the salary cap with the new league year set to begin Tuesday. Releasing Hall, who has spent the past five seasons with Washington, will trim nearly $8 million for the 2013 season.

Over 68 games with the Redskins, Hall has posted 363 tackles and 19 interceptions. The former eighth overall pick in the 2004 NFL Draft has posted at least 90 tackles in each of the past three seasons.

The 29-year-old Virginia Tech product has registered 639 tackles and 39 interceptions in 133 career games with Washington (2008-2012), Oakland (2008) and Atlanta (2004-2007).

Hall signed with Washington in November 2008 after being released by Oakland just eight games into a seven-year contract he signed the previous offseason.
