Report: Vikes send Harvin to Seattle

The Sports Network

The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly traded wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks.

According to numerous media outlets, including the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the teams have agreed to the deal in principle. The NFL Network said the Seahawks will send draft picks to the Vikings in exchange for the versatile offensive weapon.

Harvin played just nine games last season because of a severely sprained ankle, finishing the campaign with 62 receptions for 677 yards and three scores while adding 96 rushing yards and a touchdown. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown, and was leading the NFL in kick return average at 35.9 before his injury.

The 24-year-old Florida product was hurt in a Week 9 game against, ironically, Seattle and was finally put on injured reserve in early December.

Harvin, who has had a contentious relationship with Vikings management, has 280 career catches for 3,302 yards with 20 touchdowns and has also averaged 6.4 yards on 107 carries with four scores. He's also returned five kickoffs for touchdowns in his four-year career.
