FLAG FOOTBALL

The Miami Dolphins hosted their annual Girls’ High School Flag Football Jamboree at the Doctor’s Hospital Training Facility in Davie.

Approximately 400 student athletes participated in the 14-game event. Twenty-eight of the top programs in South Florida played in the annual tune-up.

“We had another successful event this year,” said Twan Russell, Miami Dolphins director of youth programs. “Every year the participation continues to grow. This shows how much girls’ flag football has evolved as a sport. We really enjoy hosting the ladies at our facility and look forward to seeing them again next year.”

Since 1997, the Dolphins and Broward County Athletic Association (BCAA) have partnered in these games.

“I think that the games were very exciting, and the kids had a good time out here,” said Rocky Gillis, BCAA athletic director. “It adds to the momentum that the teams need going into the season. Overall, the event was very successful.”
