Re the March 5 story, Boy gets suspended for pretend pastry gun: I could not believe my eyes when I read about the 7-year-old boy who was suspended from school for chewing his breakfast pastry into the shape of a gun and pointing it at someone. A pastry gun?
What’s wrong with this picture when our Congress is held hostage by the NRA, which thinks it’s fine for everyone to own an assault weapon, doesn’t want universal background checks and wants no control whatsoever on the number or types of firearms in this country. The school officials at Park Elementary School in Baltimore should be ashamed. Do they think this made their school safer or just a laughing stock?
