Annual Broward Heart Walk hopes to raise $800,000 for research

More than 5,000 participants are expected to attend Saturday’s annual Broward Heart Walk, to benefit the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association.

The walk begins at 8 a.m. at Nova Southeastern University, 3301 College Ave., Davie.

This year, the American Heart Association hopes to raise $800,000. Proceeds go toward research, education and community programs.

Activities at the event include a special kid’s zone, health screenings, games, entertainment and a free lunch provided by Subway.
