The Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority is sponsoring a Facebook photo contest through March 31. Participants (18+) are invited to submit “creative, dramatic, and stunning images” of Miami Beach (taken with Smartphone or digital camera) to the MBVCA Facebook page. • Ayuda will host a Fashion Show and Luncheon on 11:30 a.m. on March 14 at the Deuville Beach Resort. Among those modeling fashions from Macy’s: Miami Beach Commissioners Jerry Libbin and Michael Góngora; Miami Beach Fire Chief Javier Otero; and restaurateur Steve Haas (City Hall). Emcee will be “Mr. Miami Beach” Michael Aller. Gospel singer Maryel Epps will perform. Event chair is Lisa Egozi. Proceeds support Ayuda programs for special needs children. • The non-profit Slow Food Miami will host its second annual “Snail of Approval” Tasting party from 7-10 p.m. March 15 at The James Royal Palm. Join Chef Norman Van Aken and Deco Drive’s Louis Aguirre for savory bites from award-winning local farm-to-table eateries plus beer, wine and cocktails for $85; VIP tickets ($165) include an after-party at Florida Cookery with Pastry Chef Hedy Goldsmith (Michael’s Genuine). • The Sabrina Cohen Foundation for Stem Cell Research will host its seventh annual “Bowling for Breakthroughs” from 6 – 9:30 p.m. on March 21 at Lucky Strike Lanes, 1641 Michigan Ave., in Miami Beach.
