Police identify two men involved in Liberty City shooting

Police have identified the man who shot to death a suspected would-be robber in Liberty City Tuesday night.

Wilbert Tillman was near an apartment building at 7000 NW 15th Ave. when he was accosted by an armed man who demanded his belongings, Miami police detectives said.

The armed man, identified as Milton Devon Johnson, 19,, shot Tillman in the hand. Tillman then pulled out his own handgun and shot Johnson several times, leading to Johnson's death shortly afterward at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Tillman was also taken to Jackson, although his injury was said to be nonlife threatening.
