Miami-Dade hearing center is offering free screenings

The Hearing and Speech Center of Florida is be offering free hearing screenings and consultations with an audiologist during an open house March 12-15.

As the third leading chronic disability, hearing loss affects 10 percent of children and 50 percent of the elderly population.

During the open house, visitors will learn about hearing impairments and introduced to a variety of hearing aids.

Those with hearing problems can call 305-271-7343 to schedule an appointment. Hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

The center is located at 9425 SW 72nd St., Suite 261, Miami-Dade.
