Now we know why Valerie Harper pulled out of Looped, the Tallulah Bankhead biopic that just finished a run at the Parker Playhouse. Back in January, it was announced that the Rhoda star had a medical condition and that Stephanie Powers was to take over the role. People reported that Harper’s condition is ptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a cancer of the fluid-filled membrane (aka meninges) surrounding the brain. Doctors have given the beloved TV star, 73, approximately three months to live.
