Michelle Bernstein, the James Beard Award-winning chef of Michy’s, is the honorary chair of Delish 2013, a fundraiser for the ARC Broward Culinary Institute for disabled children and adults. Tickets to the March 22 event at Fort Lauderdale’s Hyatt Regency Pier 66 are $125, $175 VIP at arcbroward.org.

Cooking Channel host Ingrid Hoffmann has created the Chicharrones Fish Tacos with Chipotle Tartar Sauce being featured this month at Mercadito, 3252 NE First Ave., Miami. A four-taco order is $16.50, with 5 percent of proceeds going to Share Our Strength’s campaign against childhood hunger; 786-369-0430.

The event formerly known as the United Way Miami Wine & Food Festival has been renamed VeritageMiami, and will kick off April 17 with a craft beer tasting at Wynwood Walls. Highlights also include an April 18 wine tasting at the Village of Merrick Park and an interactive dinner at db Bistro Moderne with chef Daniel Boulud April 19; veritagemiami.com.

    ’Check, Please!’ returns Monday

    Check, Please! South Florida, the WPBT-PBS2 dining show hosted by chef Michelle Bernstein, kicks off its 10th season at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Here are the restaurants Bernstein and her citizen-critics will review:

  • De Rodriguez, Tuyo on ‘hot spot’ list

    Miami Beach’s De Rodriguez Cuba on Ocean and Miami’s Tuyo made Gayot’s 2013 list of Top 40 Hot Spots; gayot.com.

  • Raise a glass at Gables Museum, Gotham Steak, Steak 954

    The Coral Gables Museum, 285 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables, celebrates the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s Florida encounter with a presentation on the history, culture and architecture of Granada accompanied by “a generous sampling” of Spanish wines. Tickets are $30 at 305-603-8067.
