Recap: NY Yankees vs. Atlanta

Justin Upton drove in a run to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 2-0 win over the New York Yankees in spring training action on Tuesday.

Jordan Schafer and Tyler Pastornicky each scored a run for the Braves, who got 3 2/3 innings of scoreless work from starter Paul Maholm.

Brett Gardner had two of the five hits for the Yankees, who saw starter David Phelps give up a run on two hits over four innings of work.

Earlier on Tuesday, New York first baseman Mark Teixeira was ruled out of the World Baseball Classic after suffering a strained right forearm during batting practice before Team USA's exhibition game against the Chicago White Sox.

X-rays came back negative and he is expected to miss the next 7-to-10 days.
