Recap: Boston vs. Puerto Rico

Will Middlebrooks and Mike Napoli each hit a solo home run to help the Boston Red Sox to a 4-3 win over Puerto Rico on Tuesday.

Ryan Lavarnway went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a run scored while Mitch Maier and Stephen Drew each drove in a run for the Red Sox, who got three innings of scoreless work from starter John Lackey.

Yadier Molina and Andy Gonzalez each drove in a run for Puerto Rico, which is preparing for the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Nelson Figueroa gave up a run on two hits over three innings of work.
