The Miramar City Commission will consider an ordinance Wednesday night that would give residents five extra days to pay their utility bill before a late fee is charged.

Currently, the city considers a utility bill as being past due 19 days from the billing date.

The change to 24 days takes into consideration mail delays and aims improve customer service.

The 7 p.m. meeting will be held at City Hall, 2300 Civic Center Place.
