Gerrit Cole struck out the first six batters he faced and Gaby Sanchez went 3-for-3 with a home run, as the Pittsburgh Pirates blanked a Spain team prepping for the World Baseball Classic, 10-0.

Anderson Hernandez clubbed a three-run homer and Jeff Larish added a solo shot.

Cole gave up two hits over three innings.

Spain starter Yoanner Negrin tossed two scoreless innings before the Pirates broke through with three runs in the third off Rhiner Cruz.
