Hibiscus Island bash draws star power

Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Lenny Roudner hosted his annual bash Saturday at his home on Hibiscus Island. Among those spotted gawking at the headlining entertainment, daredevil and tightrope walker Nik Wallenda, who in June walked on a tight rope over Niagara Falls and on Saturday did a cake walk over Hibiscus Island: Michael Bay, Jerry Bruckheimer, Cuba Gooding Jr. and, says our source ever so matter of factly, “Roudner’s many breast augmentation clients.”

UM President Donna Shalala had lunch Thursday at Caffe Abbracci with Carlos Gutierrez, a current UM colleague and former secretary of commerce. On Friday afternoon, Sen. Marco Rubio was spotted there with some community leaders. Rubio chatted with the restaurant’s owner, Nino Pernetti, giving him an autographed copy of his book, An American Son: A Memoir.

On Friday afternoon, Dita Von Teese had a relaxing lunch with a friend at Serafina Dream South Beach. In Miami “on a top secret mission for the advancement of glamour,” according to her Twitter, the famous burlesque dancer sipped on tea while plotting her mysterious mission.

Author Salman Rushdie had dinner Saturday night, party of six, in the private wine room at Prime 112. Seated nearby was Michael Bay with his big entourage and, at a different table, footballer Terrell Owens.

Scottish tennis player Andy Murray, ranked No. 3 in the world and the reigning U.S. Open champ, was seen Friday at Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel from where he went jogging and was also seen enjoying the views.

New Orleans Saints player Jonathan Vilma was seen hanging out with friends Saturday night at the Rec Room at the Gale.

The Memphis Grizzlies made Zuma their unofficial commissary over the weekend. Among the players spotted there at various times before and after their loss to the Miami Heat: Quincy Pondexter with Mike Conley, head coach Lionel Hollins with his wife, and, separately, players Marc Gasol and Ed Davis.
