Fort Lauderdale police shot and killed a man who charged at them with a knife, police said Monday.
At about 7:30 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to a call that a man was making suicidal threats and that there was a domestic disturbance at the home located at 300 NE 17th Ave.
When police arrived, 43-year old Jeffrey Lowry came out of the home with a knife. Witnesses told police that the man refused to drop the weapon, and, after several warnings, police shot Lowry, according to police.
The shooting is still under investigation. Police ask for anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Mark Shotwell at 954-828-5517 or Detective Jim Jaggers at 954-828-5970.
