Miami has hosted 10 Super Bowls since they began in 1976. Half those games were played at what is now Sun Life Stadium.
Yet, my personal economy saw no gain from any of them. On the contrary, the traffic congestion and other associated effects produced just the opposite effect.
Like most other local residents, I don’t own a hotel. I don’t own any stations, sports gear outlets or major building contracting businesses.
They speak of jobs, but these jobs would end in 2015 — two years from now — when the construction is complete.
What will those workers do then? Sell popcorn and beer at football games, I guess.
