I loved the gowns worn by the women in this year’s Oscars — very classic and understatedly elegant.
What I didn’t like was the hosting of the Oscars by the vulgar Seth McFarlane. His sexual content, twisted, jaded, sleazy comments on everything from the Lincoln head joke to the disgusting boob song made me cringe. This man has no class. The producers don’t set limitations to broadcast a family entertainment show? Why not?
As Maggie Smith said in Downton Abbey, “Vulgarity is a poor substitute for wit.”
