Recap: Kansas City vs. Cincinnati

Brett Hayes hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to lift the Kansas City Royals to a 3-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday in spring training action.

Chris Getz added a solo shot as well, while Salvador Perez plated the other run for the Royals, who saw starter Ervin Santana allow just one hit and one walk over two scoreless frames.

Kristopher Negron and Devin Mesoraco each clubbed solo home runs for the Reds, who received two scoreless innings of one-hit ball from starter Mat Latos.
