Recap: Miami vs. Minnesota

Pedro Florimon knocked in a pair of runs and Drew Butera had two hits, one RBI and scored twice as the Minnesota Twins edged the Miami Marlins, 8-7, in Grapefruit League action on Friday.

Jamey Carroll went 2-for-4 with an RBI and scored once and Aaron Hicks added an RBI and scored once for the Twins, who moved to 5-2 in exhibition games this spring.

Tim Wood earned the win after tossing a perfect fifth inning and Luis Perdomo picked up the save despite giving up two runs in the ninth. Vance Worley, who was acquired from Philadelphia in the offseason, got the start and allowed four runs -- three earned -- on six hits over two innings.

Kevin Kouzmanoff hit a two-run homer, Juan Pierre had two hits and an RBI and Donald Solano had two hits and drove in a run for the Marlins, who also got an RBI from Giancarlo Stanton.

Steve Cishek was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs -- two earned -- on four hits over 1 2/3 innings. Henderson Alvarez started for Miami and allowed three runs on six hits over two innings.

    Nolasco fans 11 D-backs, Marlins end 7-game skid

    Ricky Nolasco struck out 11 and the Miami Marlins stopped a season-high seven-game losing streak, holding off the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1 Sunday.
