Re the Feb. 26 article, A year later, a nation awaits closure: Our right of self defense has evolved over the centuries in courts and legislatures here and in England. It has sought balance between self defense and protection of victims in the excessive use of force. As a young prosecutor in the 1960’s I saw this balance in action almost daily. There will be more senseless and unnecessary killings in the name of self defense unless the Florida Legislature repeals its license to kill.
